Butoh Performance Installation – Collaboration with Koichi and Hiroko Tamano & Harupin-Ha Dance Company

For this one-weekend-only performance at Theatre of Yugen in San Francisco, I created site-specific glass elements that were integrated into the dancers’ costumes and the stage, including sculptural and wearable glass forms, suspended droplets, and mirrored surfaces that interacted with movement and light.

This immersive collaboration highlighted the tension and beauty of Butoh, turning fragile glass into an extension of the body and the dance itself.
