Reflection Series

Reflection Series explores imagery through the interplay of glass fragments and mirrors, creating specific images on a white wall using a single light source—without projectors or hidden effects. Early works focused on simple two-figure compositions (man and woman), which were selected for juried exhibitions and received “Best of Show” in both Piedmont, NY and Newport, RI.

Later, the series evolved into more complex, colorful light-reflection works such as “Guadalupe” and “Sacred Heart”, commissioned by SomArts Cultural Center in San Francisco for their annual Day of the Dead exhibitions. For these commissions, the artist introduced dichroic glass fragments, creating a magical spectrum of color in the reflected patterns. The glass fragments were arranged on mirrors on the floor, and a single powerful theatrical spotlight revealed the effect—fully exposed—leaving viewers amazed at how the illusion was created.

Later works extended into theatrical performance, with pieces such as “Jumping Marlin” for Theatre of Yugen and “Dancer with Flowers” for Illusion (Mobu Dance Group, Project Artaud, San Francisco), where the glass-and-mirror reflections interacted with performers on stage.
